How Spooner Accounting Started

Hi, I'm Stacey.

I've spent over 18 years in accounting, and I started Spooner Accounting because I wanted to do things differently. No jargon, no being passed around, and no waiting days for a reply. Just straightforward support from someone who genuinely cares about your business.

I know accounting can feel like a minefield, especially when you're busy running a business. My job is to cut through the noise, explain things clearly and make sure you're never left wondering what's going on with your finances.

Why I Love Helping Builders & Tradespeople

One of the biggest reasons I enjoy working with builders and tradespeople is because I've experienced the journey first-hand through my husband.

I helped him move from being an employee to becoming a sole trader, and later to running his own limited company. Being involved from the beginning gave me a real understanding of the challenges tradespeople face.

I've seen the long days on site followed by evenings spent sorting receipts, worrying about tax bills and trying to keep on top of paperwork. My advice doesn't just come from a textbook, it comes from experience.

That's why I focus on making the accounting side as simple and stress-free as possible, so you can spend less time on paperwork and more time doing what you do best.

More Than Just the Numbers

Understanding your business is just as important as understanding the numbers.

Whether you're a builder, electrician, plumber, landscaper or another tradesperson, I know your time is valuable. My aim is simple: to make your finances clear, manageable and stress-free, so you can focus on running your business with confidence.

I enjoy getting to know the industries my clients work in because it helps me provide advice that's practical, relevant and easy to understand.

Outside of Work

After returning from maternity leave, I decided to start my own practice to build more flexibility around family life, and to offer clients a more personal service with communication that actually works for them.

I'm a proud mum of two, and outside of work I love travelling and spending time with my family. That balance is exactly why I want my clients to spend less time worrying about paperwork and more time enjoying life.
